Top Ten Tuesday: Covers That Capture My Attention

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is One Sitting, so I’m gonna do Ten Covers That Capture My Attention. With this, I’m gonna talk more about the design elements that I like rather than the covers themselves.

1. Blue and Gold color combination
01

I mean look! It’s just so beautiful as a combination, and often reminds me of fantasy books for some reason.

2. Doodles
02

Doodles are just so pretty and there’s a 90% chance I’d buy a book if the cover art has that style.

3. Illustrated girls
03

They just look bomb af, right?

4. Cut outs
04

I really like how they can be flat but still have some depth. They’re usually so simple and minimal too.

5. Colourful!
05

Splashes of different colours are bound to catch my attention at any given time.

6. Stylized?

Not really sure how to describe this style, but I really like how it’s stylized. It also kind of reminds me of Illuminae without the dust jacket.

7. Digital paintings

Sort of like illustrations but more detailed.

8. Flowers

I really like these, especially if they’re broken flowers with a lot of petals flying around.

So there we have it! What book covers attract your attention? Let me know down below!

Yay! I hope the story is as good as the cover. I’ve yet to read it 🙂

  3. Cutouts and doodles are my weaknesses. Guess I’m still set in traditional art, even on covers! 😛
I am a bit tired of seeing all the flowers though, just like a while back it was girls in long dresses that flooded all the covers.

omg yes THE DRESSES. THE GOWNS. They look so similar that it even confused bookstore staff here? haha. Like someone put The Jewel by Amy Ewing alongside The Selection series cause they thought that it was part of that.
